Create a colorful, personal shrine while exploring one of the oldest surface decoration techniques in ceramics — sgraffito.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll design and build your own shrine using clay slabs, develop a surface design, and carve it directly into the clay with sgraffito. The result is a richly textured, expressive work that reflects your individual style.

No prior experience is needed — just a willingness to experiment and tell your story through clay.

The workshop is divided in 2 sessions:

First session: you will design the shape of your shrine and build it out of slabs.

Second session: you will paint and engrave the design on your shrine.

After the class, you can decide whether you want your shrine to be glazed shiny or to be left matte. We will do the glazing and firing for you.

All materials are included in the price of the workshop.

Gestalte einen farbenfrohen, persönlichen Schrein und entdecke dabei eine der ältesten Oberflächengestaltungstechniken der Keramik – Sgraffito.

In diesem praktischen Workshop entwerfen und bauest Du deinen eigenen Schrein aus Tonplatten, entwickeln ein Oberflächenmuster und ritzen es mit Sgraffito direkt in den Ton. Das Ergebnis ist ein ausdrucksstarkes, strukturreiches Werk, das deinen individuellen Stil widerspiegelt. Vorkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich – nur die Bereitschaft zum Experimentieren und zum Erzählen deiner Geschichte durch Ton.

Der Workshop ist in zwei Teile gegliedert: Erster Teil: Du entwerfe die Form deines Schreins und baue ihn aus Tonplatten. Zweiter Teil: Du bemalst und gravierst das Muster auf deinen Schrein. Nach dem Kurs entscheidest Du, ob Du den Schrein glänzend glasiert oder das matt bleiben soll. Wir übernehmen das Glasieren und Brennen für Dich.
