Atelier Materia was born from friendship and a shared love for making.
Founded by Susanna and Adriana, our studio brings together two creative worlds: Susanna’s delicate, hand-painted porcelain and Adriana’s sculptural objects and installations.
Susanna (she/her), a ceramist with twenty years of experience, creates whimsical tableware and tiny porcelain miniatures that celebrate everyday beauty. Susanna has studied ceramic design in Finland and has been living in Berlin since 2012.
Adriana (she/her), a sculptor and ceramic artist, explores the expressive possibilities of materials — from large-scale installations to intimate clay portraits.
When you don’t find Susanna or Adriana in the studio, they're most likely strapped in roller skates! Both also share a love for roller skating and they are playing competitive roller derby in Berlin and internationally.
