Atelier Materia - Code of Conduct
All members, students, teachers and visitors of Atelier Materia assume an obligation to conduct themselves in a manner compatible with the code of conduct. By purchasing our products and/or services, becoming a member or visiting our studio space, you accept to follow our code of conduct.
Atelier Materia is dedicated to creating a safer, more inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, origin, age, disability (physical or mental), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, parental status, marital status, socioeconomic status, or physical appearance.
It is with this goal in mind that our atelier community will not tolerate any of the following:
racism, xenophobia, misogyny, Islamophobia, ethno-nationalism, body shaming, classism, ageism, ableism, antisemitism, antiziganism and discrimination against Ashkali or Egyptian Balkan people, homophobia, transphobia, or harassment or bullying of any kind. Those who wish to engage in bigotry or hatred will not have a place among us.
Code of Conduct:
Behaviors of the following nature are considered violations of the intent of our atelier community and will result in intervention:
Discrimination, harassment, bullying, and disrespectful or abusive behavior or language aimed at our members, visitors, students or teaching staff.
Sexual violence.
Posting images or material that exposes personal information (names, address, phone number, email etc.) of community members online without consent.
Representation of symbols of oppression, nationalism or hatred
Retaliation against someone for reporting a grievance or CoC infraction by way of threatening, intimidating, property damage, theft or any other tactics.
Other forms of misconduct not specifically listed above that are considered violations of the physical and emotional well-being of our members, or that destroy our efforts to create safety in our space.
Examples of intervention are: verbal communication with the owners of Atelier Materia, set expectations for changed behavior and trial transitional periods for trust to be restored, all the way up to and including, as a last resort, termination of any membership contract, course participation or other way of involvement (without reimbursement).
